But don’t just take our word for it. James Hicks recently delivered a lecture at the University of Bath, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. The feedback highlights not only the quality of the content but also the clarity, relevance, and practical application of the training.

Here’s what our students had to say:

What were the best features of the teaching?

The teaching by James always felt very well paced and information (sometimes tricky information) was presented very clearly. We had great discussions during the session and James’ case examples were very helpful in visualising how some of the techniques e.g., BE’s may look like in the therapy room. The role plays were also very helpful.

What might have improved the teaching?

Nothing really comes to mind. Though it would be lovely to see more video examples of some of the other disorders (GAD, panic) as we did see this for specific phobias.

Would you recommend this teaching to colleagues? (please indicate reasons for your answer if possible)

Yes, this teaching really does equip you to go off and use the formulations and start a treatment process with a client. I have certainly left the sessions feeling confident to do this.

Is there anything else you would like to feedback about the teaching you have received through NOSA?

No – it was great.

What were the best features of the teaching?

Teaching style was fantastic, really helped to contextualise things. Examples of own work was very
helpful. Group work activities were good for practicing. Your knowledge and experience was evident and
I think this really helped to answer all questions as well as build our confidence to try new things. It was
also good to see a video of you doing therapy.

What might have improved the teaching?

More videos of therapy. Perhaps some more example videos of behaviour experiments.

Would you recommend this teaching to colleagues? (please indicate reasons for your answer if possible)

Yes, 100%.

Is there anything else you would like to feedback about the teaching you have received through NOSA?

James, you were brilliant. Thank you! I hope that you are able to teach us again another time!
